Agate Mortars and Pestle

Made of precious stones (SiO2), which are very appropiate for substance disintegration and mixing. Great resistance against physical and chemical agents (except fluorhydric acid) due to high chemical purity of the agate. It avoids the sample contamination during the process. Another advantage is its great resistance to friction. Polished internal surface and pestle.

Borosilicate glass is used for the controlled reduction of particle size and homogenisation for a variety of substances, specially biological material. Size reduction/homogenisation is brought about by the shearing forces generated by the movement of a rotating plunger in precision bore tube. Plunger head is pure PTFE, plunger shaft stainless steel, 6,5 mm int., tube precision borosilicate glass, and the clearance between the plunger head and tube 0,15 - 0,25 mm. It is supplied complete with glass body and plunger plain.
